Founded upon the high tech design and loud success of the original AP irons, Titleist launches the new high performance AP2 irons for passionate golfers. Made up with multi-material, double cavity irons, Titleist AP2 preserves the design mission of the company which is to promote superior performance that you can feel to a new level.

Design and Performance

The original Advanced Performance irons emerge as a result of intense research and product analysis. Taking a specialized concept, the topnotch clubs seek to provide avid golfers with performance with great feel, not just performance at the expense of feel. The advanced research group of Titleist R&D Team has been doing extensive sound and vibration studies aimed at cutting down harsh lower frequency vibration that causes weak feel in irons. This analysis led to fusing together several materials and technologies in the back cavity of the latest AP irons resulting in a freshly tuned Feel System to take feel to a new dimension.

Technical Innovation

The co-molded medallion of soft elastomer and aluminum plate in the cavity perfectly reduces the lower sound frequencies that cause the poor feel of the iron. The dual-cavity structure thrusts weight to the externals of the forged, multimaterial clubhead to ensure stability. Other slight refinements to the latest AP2 irons have generated higher performance in terms of sound, feel and turf interaction.

Pros

Middle-handicappers, we know you insist on using players irons. Better check out this set of awesome golf clubs. This is the only holdover from the hot list in this category last year. It’s enough to prove those tour players who use AP2 to impress your friends, and the forgiveness qualities aren’t so evident that you’re risking your integrity.

Cons

The only thing that may stop you for from dealing with this particular iron set by Titleist is the price that it comes with. I mean, would you give a two-year-old model a shot given a four-digit price? Alternatively though, you can still have a day of golf with AP2 irons in your bag by renting it.
